In this masterclass, participants will be introduced to the algorave culture and learn the fundamentals of live coding with TidalCycles, an open-source language for pattern-based music.
Throughout the session, attendees will install the necessary dependencies, develop basic looping techniques, and apply algorithmic approaches to build multi-channel soundscapes. No prior knowledge of music or programming is required.

Ilgin Icozu
Lecturer/Artist
Ilgin Icozu is a composer, digital artist, and creative coder who bridges sound design and generative art. He holds a BA in Music Composition from Istanbul Bilgi University and an MA in Sonic Arts from Istanbul Technical University (MIAM). Drawing on history and mythology, Ilgın’s work blends immersive audio, interactive visuals, and creative coding to create abstract, dreamlike narratives.
He is also part of a Turkey–Spain-based artist duo focused on web-based generative artworks, exhibited globally—including at Art Basel Miami. Alongside his art practice, Ilgın lectures on creative coding and AI, and teaches music at the master’s level at LABA Valencia.
